I’ve been selling real estate in Manhattan and Brooklyn for nine years and not once has a deal been as simple as just unlocking the door.

The preparation of an apartment for market alone is a process unto itself. As an accredited staging professional, I place great emphasis on the importance of proper apartment staging, often personally overseeing this step for my exclusives. Good staging includes everything from determining the most effective renovations, arranging painters or contractors, finding the right  furniture,  de-cluttering, and arranging for art installation… All before a single photo is snapped!

This integral process has the power to make or break a deal. Over the next few weeks I’ll take you behind the scenes for the launch of an exclusive; the prep, the staging and everything that happens up to the moment before “unlocking the door.”

Getting started:
On West 56th Street between 8th Avenue and Broadway in the heart of midtown is a two bedroom, two bathroom apartment with a gorgeous view of Central park to the North and the City to the East. And I have the exclusive right to sell it.

But even with these stunning views and coveted location, to get top dollar for this apartment there is some work to be done. Over the last several months, I’ve met with Rohit Misra, the architect, and his contractor, Darren Hood, to provide counsel on how to get the apartment looking its best and ready for market; Renovation, Furniture Staging and Art.
